On the outskirts of a northern town, the police discover the frozen body of a naked woman. The murder victim is identified as the wife of senior investigator Evgeny. The bereaved Evgeny begins the hunt for the killer without much care about the legality of his methods. He is eventually suspended while the murders continue to haunt the town.
