Mikhail visits his hometown for his father's birthday. His father, Nikolay, is the head of the local National Guard. During the banquet, Nikolay is suddenly arrested on suspicion of corruption. Mikhail can't believe his father is guilty, and joins the National Guard as a lowly sergeant. He wants only one thing - to find evidence of his father's innocence. Yet the truth he's seeking will turn his world upside down.
