Film director and producer Alexey Uchitel founded Rock Films in 1991. The studio produces both feature films and documentaries. Over the past 33 years, Rock Films' productions have received more than 100 awards at various international film festivals and have been distributed in cinemas both in Russia and abroad.
The studio's films have been nominated for prestigious awards, including the Academy Award (the Oscars) and the Golden Globe. Notable titles include "The Major" (Cannes IFF) and "The Fool" (Locarno IFF) by Yury Bykov, "Captive" by Alexey Uchitel (Karlovy Vary IFF, Cottbus FF), "The Whaler Boy" by Philipp Yuryev (77th Venice Film Festival, Pingyao Film Festival), and many others.
