In 1932, the Japanese army occupied northeastern China, establishing a puppet state called Manchukuo, the "Great Manchurian Empire." They placed Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing dynasty, as its nominal ruler. This marked the beginning of a long, brutal, and bloody war initiated by Japanese militarists, resulting in the deaths of over 35 million Chinese people. This documentary features rare, trophy footage revealing the formation of Manchukuo and the life of Emperor Puyi. Viewers will uncover compelling evidence of the cruel and horrific crimes committed by Japanese occupiers, as well as the courageous resistance of the Chinese people during the 1930s and 1940s.
