ROSKINO considers co-production to be one of the most important areas contributing to the integration of Russian projects into the international markets. The first online market for Russian content, Key Buyers Event, which took place in June 2020, showed the ever-growing number of producers and projects focused on international co-production, with over 90 projects submitted for Key Buyers Event co-production section.

“The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation actively supports projects related to co-production. In 2019 we announced the first competition for getting minority support of co-production projects involving Russian producers. The development of the educational vector, despite all the challenges of this year, is a priority for us and a stable foundation for the development of the industry. We are glad to start working in this direction with ROSKINO and colleagues from EAVE,” says the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

“One of the ROSKINO’s key goals is to help raise the level of Russian projects in the international scene. Observing the growth in the number and quality of co-production projects, we considered it necessary to address this request and initiated an educational program in Russia for Russian specialists working in the co-production segment. The training was developed jointly with one of the main European associations - EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), which has been doing similar programs around the world for many years.  I'm very proud to see a number of successful co-production projects at the resent 77th Venice International Film Festival gaining top awards and presenting projects at the Venice Gap-Financing Market, among them “The Whaler Boy” by Philipp Yuryev, “Conference” directed by Ivan Tverdovsky, "Convenience Store" by Mikhail Borodin and "Captain Volkonogov escaped" by Natasha Merkulova and Alexei Chupov. The expanded presence of Russian content at one of the most influential international festivals emphasizes the great potential of our industry”, said CEO of ROSKINO Evgenia Markova.

“There is a great potential for international co-production in Russia at the moment. After a successful first cooperation between EAVE and ROSKINO for the KEY BUYERS EVENT, we are delighted to continue our partnership, training Russian producers and preparing their projects for the international market in a specially designed EAVE ON DEMAND session in Russia. Leading EAVE experts will work with a group of selected Russian producers to develop their feature films in development in terms of script development, production, packaging, sales and distribution", comments EAVE CEO Kristina Trapp

The EAVE ON DEMAND IN RUSSIA project will be curated by Natalia Drozd, a successful co-production producer (“Arrhythmia”, "Core of the world"). The projects will be selected by an authorized commission. After submission of projects and selection of the best ones, the selected participants will take part in a 2-day workshop, which includes workshops on project development, packaging, financing in Europe, legal aspects of co-production, marketing strategy and festival distribution. Participants will also be able to hold one-on-one meetings with international co-production, marketing and legal advisors. In addition to the workshops, there will be one-to-one online sessions with instructors to discuss and develop scripts. At the final stage producers will be able to present their finished projects at the Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event business platform and meet with potential financiers, co-producers, global sales agents and distributors.
